Domain Name purchasing

I have a question with regards to domain names. A number of domains are
becoming available due to non-renewals. I have been keeping tabs on
domains as the come due and picking-up a few as I go along. They often
yield anywhere from 100 - 1000 hits more a month from people looking for
the website that "was once there."

Is there a market in selling this traffic monthly? If VentureCapital.com
came available and 1000 hits per month came across it, would this not be
the most targeted marketing you could receive online?

Another quick note, I recently used SnapNames, 6 months ago. Has anyone
else had any experience with them. The domain I wanted came available 3
times during those 6 months while companies like BuyDomains, and other
registrars put a few week holds on it before they could do anything...I
was wondering if anyone knows if I lost the money I spent on Snap Names,
because that seems to be the only thing they can snap up.
