Re: Domain Name purchasing

The easiest way to make money from domains is signing up with a Parked
Domain monetization service.

I know a thing or two about this space since I work for DomainSponsor.com,
and that's what we do.

We serve individuals or companies that own domain portfolios ranging in size
from the hundreds to the thousands.

To monetize the traffic for the domain owner, we display a Paid Search links
page to the user. As our system learns over time what the people landing on
the domain are searching for, the system dynamically changes out the links
(for each domain) to more closely reflect the interests of previous visitors
to said domain. When the users search or click on a link, revenue is earned
from the paid search partners we work with (Findwhat, Ah-ha, etc). We share
that revenue with the domain owners.

example: www.lifetimeweddings.com

If a domain gets traffic, it will earn revenue from a system like ours.
Average earnings are in the $15 - $25 CPM range based on Unique visits and
of course the higher the US % the stronger the earnings. Given that a
domain can be bought for only $7.95 for a year and parking is free with
services like ours (no hosting or design costs), it takes very little
traffic to break even.

The space is much bigger than you would imagine and the portion of paid
search traffic generated from domains is far greater than anyone wants to
admit.

The reason it works is that most of the traffic is type in traffic, and it
turns out that that behavior more reflects a search than anything else, so
displaying relevant links to a visitor actually adds value.

I have been on this list for a while now so I know the rules. I post this
information because I feel it is instructive in nature.

All the best.
