Although ranking may have a bit of influence in valuing a web site, the real
measure of what a site is worth (other than what a willing buyer offers to
pay) is going to be tied to sales and profitability, and depending on the
type of site, possible promotional value if there's a large community of
users (say fans that might make offline purchases because of the site. )

But ranking in search engines alone isn't a good metric to use to value a
business.
