Lyris is the software package we use to run this discussion list. To our
knowledge it played no role in the AOL blocking. We run the list on our
own in-house machine with our own copy of Lyris. The IP address of that
machine was blocked by AOL, but that had nothing to do with the Lyris
software on the machine. We never asked Lyris for any support during
the incident as there was no indication that factors related to Lyris
played any role in the problem.

No, we never found out how many complaints were made, nor were we able
to see the complaints, or even find out who they were from in order to
be certain they were removed from the list. I think that was because
of the time lag between when the complaints were received and when we were
able to get the problem resolved. AOL now supposedly knows our contact
email address so that if there are any future complaints, they can now
notify us of them in a timely manner so that we can quickly bring them
to resolution.
