Good to see you posting again and the stream of responses to your inquiry.

It would help in answering your question to know what motivated the
agency to ask for alternatives. Are there particular features they
are seeking or particular deficiencies in Powerpoint they are trying
to work around?

For many years, I developed most of my presentations in HTML, because
I was speaking about online marketing and wanted to use the presentation
itself to demonstrate some of the capabilities of the medium to people
that were unfamiliar with it. Nowadays that is hardly necessary, and
I tend to use Powerpoint in most cases.
