Re: Where is the online ads digest?
Artashes asked if many of our subscribers have a Yahoo
email address.
In fact we have 423 subscribers to this list with Yahoo
addresses. We also have 628 with aol addresses, and 685
with hotmail addresses.
Keith and Russell suggested that subscribers use the
whitelist feature of Yahoo mail to keep their digest out
of their bulk mail folder. This is feasible, but undesirable
in that it requires the end user to take an action which
many people don't know how to take or are unlikely to
perform.
Leon suggested contacting Yahoo to get them to keep your
mailing list out of the bulk folder, and in fact I have
found a form on the web for doing just that.
http://add.yahoo.com/fast/help/us/mail/cgi_bulkmail
when you submit this form, they send you an email back asking
you a lot of questions... if they like your answer to their
email, they will keep your mailing list out of the bulk folder.
Hotmail evidently works a bit differently. They use the
Bondedsender service to decide if mailing lists should be
treated as bulk mail or not. One needs to pay a fee (not too
large) and put up a small bond in order to make it onto their
"good list." See https://www.bondedsender.com/fees.jsp for
details.
We have already covered the topic of how to get aol mail
blocks removed in previous discussion, so I won't repeat it
here.
