So as I read this report this is conversion rates from Cart --> Checkout
confirmation. This is interesting. I am also surprised they did not
include statistics on shipping rates and methods.

I have read several reports that discuss that conversion rates decrease if
you do not publish shipping rates on the main page or at the product
level. Obviously many people shop around for the best shipping prices so
the abandonment decreases if the shipping prices are not described until
the cart level.

I think if you were to conduct a survey on "average conversion rates" that
the conversion of add to cart --> checkout would be the most advantageous.
 I think we have all agreed that conversion from site landing page -->
checkout varies too much to have an accurate average.
