Re: Rip it to shreds please

Well, very cool... there was a good response today to my
request for site reviews of the ADASTRO web site. Six of you
took the time to trash the web site, and we appreciate the
efforts very much!

You told us some things we knew, and some more things we
didn't know. You told us some things we agreed with, and
other things we didn't agree with in the least. A few of the
comments were slightly on the er.. an^al side, but I did ask
for people to rip the thing to shreds, so I'm more inclined
to giggle about it than complain about it.

I'm going to send through the six critiques now, followed
by our response.

Two lessons that we already knew but were reinforced by this
exercise... 1) It is a lot easier to critique someone else's
work than your own... sometimes you are just too close to your
own content to be able to see it the way others will... and
2) some things are just a matter of personal opinion and
preference, and it is a good thing that we live in a
wonderful society where we are free to agree to disagree.

We launched a redesign and update to the web site tonight
that incorporates many of the suggestions we received today
and yesterday, so you can see the changes that resulted
from this exercise online now at http://www.adastro.com .
Some more changes will follow that will take
longer to implement, but we were able to respond to most
of the suggestions that we agreed with very quickly.
