Business Portal Revenue Model

Hi folks,
I and a couple of friends want to start a web business portal for
South Asian market. The problem is that we cannot decide on the
revenue model and its functionality.

Here is what we intend to do. We plan to list all the exporters from
our region on our website. We will attract importers from other
countries to our site and will show them the products and services
we can provide them. We will have a web-form for further queries
related to certain product or to certain exporter.

Now as is customary, we plan to make money by charging the
exporters but we are a bit puzzled over how we should do it. We
plan to send the exporters the first query for free and than charge
them a registration fee and a per lead fee for subsequent leads.

The problem is if we forward the queries directly to exporters along
with the contact details of the importer, we will lose any potential
future business as middleman. On the other hand, if we don_t
include the contact details, how should we handle the correspondence
between the importer and exporter?

I hope I am making some sense. Please send in your suggestions to
solve the stated problem. You can also comment about the overall
feasibility of this project plus any ideas about attracting importers
from US,Uk and Europe?

Thanks in Advance
Amir
