Re: Should I sell my domain name?

Hi Cliff,

You might want to hold onto your domain for a few months. This year,
Godaddy, Inc (http://www.godaddy.com) - right here in Phoenix, Arizona is
going to be running an advertisement during Superbowl XXXIX. If you are not
familiar with Godaddy.com, they are a domain register among other things.
They have become one of the fastest growing private companies (See Inc. 500)
in the US by offering inexpensive domain registration, and supporting
products (i.e. web hosting, email hosting).

Point is, any ad promoting a domain registration company to the masses is
likely to cause an increase in interest to the whole domain grab. It may not
be a gold rush, but an increase in awareness and interest will occur at the
very least.

* There are nearly 300 million people in the US and more than 6 billion
worldwide.
* Internet presence continues to grow in the US and at a rapid pace in other
countries.
* There must be tens of millions of people that will consider registering
their first domain name in the next five years.
* Kids learn how to use the Internet faster than they learn how to read.

* They are not making anymore dotcom's like yours.

Increase in demand + zero increase in supply = increase in price.

Here are a couple quick questions for the community:

How many people are on the Internet worldwide?
Will Internet2 change the way domains work today?
Will/does the Year 2000 have historical meaning?

My two bits...

Sean

By the way... I think I was one of your advertisers back in the day! It was
a great site for the whole Y2K!
