One of the most effective ways to ensure your messages get through is to
educate your opt-in audience in how to set up a mail filtering rule that
benefits them, i.e., doesn't auto-kill your messages. With IE also
defaulting to surpress HTML based e-mail messages automatically, and
educated user is truly the best weapon if you want to ensure your messages
will get through repeatedly.

It's easier to do this, than to attempt to stay on top of every new
anti-spam trick one might hear of.
