Hi. I have been lurking for a couple of weeks, and find the discussions very
pertinent, and would like to pitch is occasionally. I have been in marketing
for about 15 years, and now have a content-based web business.
To the above, I would add that it's not knowing the person they are
contacting, it's liking the person they are contacting that is important.
This is a challenge, especially if you are going international or for a wide
customer group. It is very easy to put people off. Being too up front can
easily make people wonder why they should be so interested in you. For an
international target group, I would adopt a friendly and easy style, but
would be careful about introducing myself unless my personality or
achievements were important to the message of the product.
