Re: Sending Emails vs. Links

"When a user visits a website and wishes to mention one of its articles to a
friend, would he (or she) rather have the entire piece emailed or a link
sent?"

Bandwidth wise a link as your friend might not want a graphic heavy page
delivered without their prior consent.
Although a link can break (by wrapping) and if not accompanied with a
summary of the link content will probably not entice the friend to
clickthrough.

"Which would the receiver prefer?"

Maybe neither because of the content, it would be interesting to see any
stats available?

"Which drives more traffic to the website?"

Again don't know but it would be interesting to see evidence/stats

"How much more likely would the links-only emails be to be flagged as sp*m?"

Depends on the link content, of course if the link is
www.loansforyou.com/applyforaloan.htm is more prone to filtering
than www.abc.com/B2ss34.htm

Interesting topic, I hope that more contributors are found and I wonder how
many Online Advertising Discussion List Subscriber's can read my reply due
to their filters!!!!
