Predatorial ad agencies

The other day I received an interesting email message from an
advertising company who are interested in selling our product. This
person was willing to sell our product (a fitness eBook) if we sold it
to him for half its retail cost. He noticed that we had an affiliate
program (50%) but was not interested in joining because of the ad
expenses involved in selling our product.

Has anyone dealt with a company such as this one? I'm interested in
this method of selling but am unsure of this person's credibility and
sales capability.
