As far as audio for the Mac and Linux and other niche systems
(in terms of PC Internet clients) I might be able to do
something similar with RealBasic on the Mac and other
platforms. Audio recording is pretty closely tied to the
operating system. I think the Internet would have had a lot
more audio on it from the start if Microsoft had made a more
usable audio utility for Windows. You can actually do all the
things I am doing, with Soundrec, if you know a bunch of
little tricks and steps. I'm just trying to make audio
recording ubiquitous.

I'm already hearing, 'make MP3s'. I PLAN TO ADD SUPPORT FOR
Lame encoding, leave it up to the user to download and decide
if they are infringing on the patent claims of Thomson and the
F people (some German name that escapes me at the moment.)

If all the patent claimants get serious about it, we may end
up with a Curtis-Wright situation. In the USA, America
invented the successful airplane, then lagged behind all the
European countries because the Wrights were trying to make a
buck. The government went in and forced a settlement during
World War I so that we could start making real airplanes.
