Email newsletter service pricing

Can someone provide general info about the pricing of email newsletter
services? I'm working with some guys to develop family-oriented advice
emails that other organizations, such as churches and non-profit
organizations, would offer to their members. We would produce the
content and customize it for the organization, and send it out to their
list. What should we charge for this service? Should it be priced on a
per thousand basis? Do you think it would work on a weekly or twice
monthly basis?
