Re: Finding an ad rep firm
I too started a web site that took off like crazy. I hired an
independent media buyer/ad agent to sell advertising
commission only. We don't do cpm. I never did like that.
We also don't rotate banners. We just charge a flat fee
because we have more options than just banners. For
example, we charge to be featured in our newsletter, to
be featured on our main page, sending out e-blasts,
online scavenger hunts, giveaways, banners, etc... We
put together nice packages for people to promote their
business, concert, events, etc...
Now the ad agent has hired 3 more sales reps to work
under her. They work commission only and she also
gets a bit of their commission. She sends them out on
leads and gives them companies to go after.
We have actually established ourselves as a influential
media entity in the Pittsburgh area. People now not
only put their events/ads on the radio and in the local
paper, but they now know to contact us as well if they
want our target audience.
Hope this helps.
