Jackie,

I have a few ways you might be able to go about finding some independent
reps to help you sell your ad space. I work on the other side of the
equation; strategy, buying, planning and execution, but came across some
great resources in my recent job search for full time or consulting.

Check the following sites and read their job boards. There are always
people posting situation wanted ads. I posted some myself, and did have a
lot of companies contact me. Many of them for ad sales, which again is not
my thing, but right in line what you are looking for. You could also
consider placing your own ad for employment. There are fees involved, but
then when aren't there these days. People within the media industry use
these sites heavily, online included, and you will reach a quality audience.

I think finding a freelance, or commission-based person is the way to go for
you to start up your ad sales program. Post your ads, pound the pavement
with the people that are already looking and I bet you'll have someone in
short order.

Also, I see in a post on this mornings digest that someone recommended going
to the large ad servers out these and contracting some of your impressions
with them. I would recommend this as well. You won't get top dollars for
your inventory, but you will start generating a steady revenue stream in the
mean time. Everyone from Yahoo! AOL and MSN on down sells inventory to
these companies, and they are well established in the market place.
