Improving Conversion Rate

Hello! I'm a long-time reader, but a first-time poster.
 
I run a small web site that sells high-quality aerial photo posters to niche
groups. I don't seem to be having problems with my ads - I advertise on
small niche web sites and newsletters, and those ads are delivering visitors.
 
The problem is that they aren't buying anything - my conversion rate on my
latest ads are under 0.1%!!
 
I don't think it's my web site design. I think that there's something wrong
with my marketing mix - people who do buy the posters write me and tell me
how much they love them. It could be the price, or it could be something
else. But since I don't know who the non-buyers are, I can't contact them to ask
them what the problem is.
 
My question is: Any suggestions for good ways to figure out why they aren't
buying? Or even just figure out who the non-buyers are?
