Wiki's have a lot of potential for internal use. I find them particularly
useful for collaborating on project plans and documentation.

The following from Wikipedia founder Jimmy Wales (in an interview with CIO
Insight magazine http://www.cioinsight.com/article2/0,1540,1828552,00.asp)

"You keep it out of the hierarchy, and you preserve institutional
knowledge that typically never gets written down__the way to fix the
copier, or the preferences of a particular customer."

He also highlights a key benefit, "... big knowledge management systems
make a lot of a priori assumptions. Wikis don't."

Of course "big knowledge management systems" have their place, but some
things are best left simplified. Simple increases user participation.
