Re: Spywares and advertisers

This is a constant problem and here is how it works, Subir. The networks
that you are running in most cases do not do this intentionally. It is the
advertiser's themselves that do this. In many cases it is a partner of the
network that may be responsible. The advertiser will show legitimate ads
most of the time but they will try and sneak this adware/spyware installation
by the network at night and on the weekends sporatically so they don't
get caught.

The best way for you to combat this problem is to report EVERY incident
of this to the networks that you work with. Amazon is an affiliate program
and only runs their ads so it is not necessary to report it to them, however
the other networks you run do run third party ads and that is were the
risk is. Ask your users to provide as much information as possible to you
about the incident to include screenshots and any code they are able to
get access to from that incident. The more often this is reported the better
chance we have of eliminating these problems completely.

Also you can feel free to forward incidents to me as well. We are actively
fighting these problems and are working with the FBI and other organizations
to help address these problems.
