In response to the "spyware and advertisers" question, unfortunately
advertisers can introduce a technology that automatically downloads some
form of software onto the user's site if/when the user clicks on an ad found
on your site. It's really difficult to tell who is doing this, but ideally
you want to find an ad network that lets you review and choose all the ads
running on your site. From your list, I think Amazon is fine (they wouldn't
risk their reputation), but everyone else is fair game. The best you can do
is contact the ad networks and ask about their policies regarding this type
of activity. The good networks will look into it and notify you of any
wrong-doing they find, and ultimately disallow the advertiser to continue
running that type of ad.
