Yes, there's plenty about this on www.webmasterworld.com.
The forums there are reporting that it's as bad as the Florida Update
nearly 2 yrs ago.
It is bad, but I got hit with 2 massive earning sites 3 months ago.
Seems to me that they are hitting sector by sector rather than in
one fell swoop as they did with Florida.
I guess that you are seeing that you have dropped 3-4 pages and
that big company/authority sites (.org's/.ac's) are at the top now.

Reason - my theory is that Google doesn't have enough money ;-)
and wants to make more by forcing you and I to buy ads. Otherwise,
we're off the front page at least through Christmas, and maybe
permanently.

I still do well on Yahoo and MSN but income is down to 25% of what
it was.

I moaned about Google 2 yrs ago and was shot down by some readers.
I guess that they will still have some fans but I see a distinct trend
towards Google now being perceived as the evil one, like Microsoft
became when it got too big for its boots.

I killed my Google Adsens ads. Why should I feed the hand that bites me?
I would be happy if people did the same, and did stopped buying ad space
on Google as well.

Don't waste your bandwidth asking Google why. You'll get a nice sympathetic
stock email and then you'll be largely ignored.

Once people start boycotting them and persuading their friends and colleagues
that Yahoo and MSN are better, then maybe they'll stop hitting small
businesses. I read that Google's results are less relevant anyway so why
not ditch them?
