Calling all mentors: Got any business war stories to share?

Greetings:

I'm posting here and on all the lists on which
I've been a member, seeking some help:

Do you ever get asked how you got into your
business? Have helpful or weird career stories
to share? Know anyone who has really good ones?

I am now in the midst of my producing my fourth
book, which is a departure from my usual rants
and diatribes on branding. The idea for this
book came up when I noticed how many new kids ask
the same questions from old pro's. I see this a
lot on discussion lists I'm on.

I've collected 30 of the most often-asked
questions from young people getting started in
their careers, and now I'm collecting war stories
and answers from as many seasoned pro's/mentors
as I can find. I'm looking for sage advice, real
world experience and torrid tales that range from
revenge ("I waited five years to get that guy
fired") to ribald ("I don't care what they say,
office sex is the best") to really useful
("Forget all that resume crap -- it's who you
know that gets you get hired"). Just about
anything that will separate myths they learn in
college from what we've all learned on the
streets, including real tips and tactics that got
you where you are today.

These can be success, failure or "life lesson"
stories, on any topic related to careers. All
are equally important.

Please feel free to forward ANY seasoned
professionals, including yourself - or just those
with good, true stories in any business category
- to this URL. They can answer as few or as many
questions as they'd like (details are at the
page):

The book will be totally uncensored and unaltered
(except for typos, misspellings, etc.). Each
author will get a major plug for what he/she
does, or if they prefer, can remain totally
anonymous. After all, this should not only be
informative, but entertaining. So if the stories
get too intense, I realize that some folks may
not wish to be publicly exposed.

Your answers can be as long or as short as you
like, in keeping with your character.
Open-ended questions are included so as to invite
as many good business war stories as we can get.

Thanks for sending anyone and everyone to help.
There are a lot of young people who really want
to hear your story.
