That might work great for tracking direct mail or print advertising, but it is
not a good strategy as it relates to search engine optimization. Search
engines view multiple domain names pointing to the same website as a
spamming technique and will use it as a criteria for banning your site from
their database. The only time maintaining multiple site domains is a good
idea is if you can create a series of "mini sites" that are all linked to
one another by product category. For example, one site for bridal gowns, one
for bridesmaid dresses, one for veils, etc. This strategy allows you to
create the requisite inbound text links to each site, each of which is
supporting one company, while being optimized for a specific product
category.
