The site is up..but where is everybody!
We have been up and running for about the last 6 months. In that time we
have made great strides on offering a variety of discounted tickets on our
site. StubDog.com works with local venues and helps generate business
during their slower times or times when they are unable to "fill the
house". We take a percentage of these "unsold tickets" and offer them at a
discount on our site in the hopes of getting people to try something new.
Its good for the business because there is no cost to use our site and we
are selling seats that would remain empty anyway. So whether they sell
anything on our site or not their advertising cost is zero.
Its good for the consumer because it allows people to go to an event;
theatre, sports, music spa etc. for about half the price. Venues are
warming to the idea and love it because its Free and we do all the work for
them. We feel like we are offering a great service but if no one knows
about us...
Now the problem we are running into is getting people to the site. So the
very long, "Aggie-like" way around a simple question is: how do we get
people to the site on a limited marketing/advertising budget. We have been
using google, overture, friends, family, craigslist, message boards, various
site targeting etc.
If anyone has any ideas on how to market the site without spending a fortune
we would very much appreciate the input.
Thanks for the help
