Hello everyone:
I am new to the list-I am the Director of Account Services at SiteSpecific
Inc-A Web Media Company. I write a quarterly Web marketing report which we
sell to our clients and the current "volume in progress" focuses heavily on
What Goes On a Banner. A targeted (high or low) call to action-a trivia
question, teaser copy, promotion of a contest- which always keeps in mind
when the user sees it, where the user sees and who is seeing it. I am very
excited about what is served with the banner as opposed to on it. Whether
the banner goes to a remote window on the site, a bridge page or a
microsite-it is there that we can really leverage the medium.

I have had success using that space for market research (surveys), content
(programs), direct response and promotions. It's the same old "taking the
store to the shoppers" theory, and in this case most of the shoppers are
pre qualified. This also effects measurement-depending on whether the
client wants to build awareness (CPM) or drive traffic (clickthrough) or
collect data (research, qualified leads), the banner can be used as a call
to that action.

By the way, I'd love to receive a copy of SKYWRITING.
Thanks, Di-Ann Eisnor
