REQUIRED: advertising directories & some hints from Germany

Hallo list members,

we are looking for advertising directories e. g. places where sites that
will accept banner advertising can place their data to be retrieved by
interested advertisers. We are also interested in locations of Japanese
search engines. Please mail any hints to me.

If that is of any interest to you, here are some tips regarding Germany. We
are not acting on behalf of any of these but I regard these informations to
be as useful to you as it was to us.

There are three search engines over here that are of a major interest:

The most important one, WEB.DE, is located at http://vroom.web.de/
Second one is DINO, located at http://www.dino-online.de/

Both are regarded to be the major players so far but a German magazine just
started a cooperation with Lycos to be found at http://netguide.de/ (maybe
put www. in front of "netguide" if it does not work.

Another one can be found at www.aladin.de (crawler-type) but it works very
slowly.

The first two ones rather need entries in German language.

If you are interested in banner exchange, I found a German site that did
just start on this and is to be found at

http://numero-15.com/link4link/.

Works somewhat similar to http://www.linkexchange.com/. From my oppinion
this will only be useful if you place a banner of a site that will be of
some interest to a mainly German audience e. g. it would not make much
sense to place something on behalf of a pizzeria in California. It is
suggestable to produce the banner in German language. To receive further
information in English language you maybe better contact the webmaster at
sysop_at_hum.de.

One of our clients is a German newspaper regarded to be a major player over
here. They run a web presence of about 4500 pages by now. Their webmaster
is interested in some cooperation with similar objects (newspapers) or
other larger sites worldwide. Could be either by link or banner exchange or
whatever is suitable.
