In my opinion, MLM on the Web suffers from the same problem that causes
most MLMers to fail OFF the Web. And that's this:

Recruiting for most MLMs is most effectively done
person-to-person to your "warm" market -- people who will at least
recognize your name. Many MLMers would like to escape that reality
because they're too codependent to "bother" their family, friends, and
associates, but it's simply a statistical fact.

The other problem with online MLM marketing is differentiation. There is
soooo much of it and it all looks the same. That's why the relationship
between sponsor and recruit is such an important factor.

My advice: work your warm market first where you're likely to score with
10% to 20% of the people you contact. Go to mass advertising where the
odds are 1 in hundreds after you've exhausted your warm market potential.
The reality is, if you're in a good program, you may never need the mass
market advertising. Also, If you have one program that's working, compare
the two carefully. There is probably something in the successful program
that's missing in the other one. Perhaps the longer term gain is more
believable that the get-rich-quick MLM scheme.
