I personally think the Calvin Klein commercials are stupid and have no
influence on me at all. I hate ads like this. I want ads to tell me
something about the product and give me some information to make a choice.

And yes, I know that advertising ultimately appeals to the emotions (even
an ad explaining the benefits of a product is trying to make you feel
strongly about *wanting* the product), but you can use emotions honestly
or dishonestly.

And relying mainly or even exclusively on non-rational aspects (like the
Calvin Klein commercials) is essentially dishonest, since they're trying to
make you want something without really giving you a good reason.
