I couldn't agree with him more.
I don't go to the major newspaper sites because I refuse to wait for a
gazillion useless graphics to download when all I want are the headlines
and a clickable choice to get the details.
The New York Times has a story summary page, but you can't get to it until
you wait for all the cover pages to laboriously, time-consumingly download,
at least the last time I checked it, which was -- ahem -- some time ago.
