Greetings:

I read with interest the different messages concerning the "E-Mails"
of the types " How you get rich in xx-days" all MLM-Type based
business set-ups.

Living in Switzerland were we have quite important communication
taxes, I am really worring to keep the monthly communication costs in
acceptable range. These scammer's however absolutely not interested
in respecting basically "Netiquette" are just posting their "Adds"
were ever thy like. Bear in mind MLM is a pyramid set-up business.
Obviously, the amount of such messages are increasing also in
pyramid style.

Try to go in Newsgroups such as Alt.Business,
Alt.business.Import-Export, Biz.market.international etc. and you
will no doubt get the topics.....Today, MLM-Scam messages are making
something like 90% of all messages only on these few mentioned
sites.

Using Agent as Newsreader, I use of course kill filtering rules, but
the fact remains, that the large number of such "Scams" are seriously
devaluating the use of these sites for other, be far more serious
tasks.

MLM companies will certainly continuously research additional methods
to use in order to post their messages on the Internet. For example,
I could easily imagine, they would "hire" just some ordinary
net-users, to post, when surfing on the WEB, "their Message" to the
usually mentioned E-Mail address......generating an important
multiplicator factor of the number of persons "reading their
messages". "Yes" their primary strategy, is definitely, that the most
important number of users is reading the "great message" usually
taking quite some time to download from your service provider.

Really workable measures allowing to eliminate this constantly
increasing number of scam messages are not many at disposal.

Listowners/Postmasters:
They could take retorting measures in sending back to the scammers
an important quantity of Mega's blocking their Mailbox.

If I recall correctly, the Mellon University has put on service a
listserver to whom such scams can be announced.

Service-providers could be "induced" stopping to provide their
services.
