A very good question, and one we have been battling with lately. Our
site, Portfolios Online, (www.portfolios.com) was featured in
Photo>IMaging as well as in Photo District News, plus it was mentioned in
several other publications. We have been able to correlate activity on
the site directly to exposure in traditional media, and our hit rate has
gone up as high as 37,000 hits per day.
The only way we have figured out how to get advertisers more interested
in the site, is the old fashioned approach -- draw up a list of potential
advertisers, and contact them directly. Even then we have had very
limited success due to a shortage of manpower at our end.
Does anyone else has another suggestion?
