Cliff,
This thread has become repetitive, and possibly an example of it's own
subject. The participants seem to have polarised into 2 camps, pro and
contra, and the language is degenerating to use of words like 'pedantic'
- some people seem to be getting hot under the collar. I suspect that
those who insist that you can handle junk email with the click of a
mouse button don't get very much email. I spend much of my day
processing email and I agree with you that the volume is exponentiating.
Those who don't understand what we're saying, soon will..

Please can we kill this thread now?

[Note from moderator: I agree -- we have about hit the end of this thread.
I have a handful of additional posts waiting for me to forward to the
list. After that, how about we all agree to move on to something else?
