I have three recommendations, all of which I have found to be very useful:

1. GINA (Global Internet News Agency???) has a service that will allow you
to e-mail your press release to specific databases of press contacts. I
don't have their number handy (they are in Los Angeles, area code 310), but
you can check out their web site.

2. Business Wire can distribute your press release by fax, news wire and/or
(I think) by e-mail. They have offices all around the country (it's worth
requesting an information kit, since it contains a list of all the major
media on their database), as well as a Web site, www.businesswire.com

3. AdLib Publications (512-472-6617) has a great database (available on
disk) with tons of media contacts (TV, radio, newspaper, magazines). It is
very economical (under $200, from what I recall), and worth exploring.
