Internet Advertising Bureau meeting tomorrow

Hey folks,
We've just hit 600 subscribers. I'd estimate 300 of the original 600 from
Kevin's list resubscribed, and we have had about 300 new subscribers added
to this list over the past week. 80% receive the daily digest, 20% receive
individual postings. Despite the steady influx of new subscribers, posting
have dwindled down to a very low level the last few days. Please speak up
-- the silence is deafening!
No one responded to my challenge of a few days ago to identify web sites
other than Year 2000 for which the advertising revenue is greater than the
true costs of content development, web site operation, and web site
marketing. Does this mean Year 2000 is the only one? I find that hard to
believe... I knew us Tenagrans were true Internet pioneers, but suspect
there are probably other success stories out there waiting to be told.
>From Inter_at_ctive Week and Advertising Age: Marketing consultant Don
Peppers will be the keynote speaker tomorrow June 21 at the first general
meeting of the Internet Advertising Bureau (formerly Internet Advertising
Council), a new trade group for ad-supported Web sites. The meeting will
be hosted at the McGraw Hill Building in New York from 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Cost is $35 per person, and reservations can be made via e-mail to
IAC_at_edelman.com or call (212) 704-4446 . IAC is a trade association whose
general member companies are actively engaged in the sales of advertising
delivered over the Internet. The IAC promotes the use and effectiveness of
online advertising and helping advertisers and their agencies maximize the
value of their online marketing.
Is anyone on our list going to attend? If so, I'm sure the list would love
a report.
