After reading this thread, I think I feel most comfortable
with Peter's approach, with perhaps the one addition
that I would add as a courtesy: take the original search
request and populate the fill-out form with the same.
You still get the ads, and the user feels a pinch better that
they don't have to retype what they just typed.

(and to head off the argument that not doing the above
would force the user to stay a pinch longer: yes, but
that additional time would be spent typing and grumbling,
not being receptive to the ads.)
