There is, without a doubt, a considerable bump in traffic that can
be obtained from people's SIG files. But I don't think that particlar
entree can be sold, nor that it's wise to do so.

If I have a URL in my sig, it's part of my identity. People who are
curious about me will click on it or type it into Netscape to check
me out.

If my signature looks like this:
