In response to the question about domestic web sites seeing
international business traffic...

Our site, Alliance of Global Business Exchange, sees a good amount
of our traffic from overseas. Since our focus is international
business we focus on the business aspect and matching U.S. business
with distributors or strategic alliances or venture capital
overseas. The concept has worked very well: one example is an
attorney in a small office who has signed a very lucritive $7,500
per month retainer with a Ukranian group to advise on their
contracts with U.S. companies. The attorney has had other dealings
with the Russians, but the fact of the matter is that any attorney
could do this work since it deals with U.S. contract law. Another
success story is the client who was trying to sell 4.5 tons of
shrimp from his mariculture business in Mazatlan. He found a buyer
out of Hong Kong that took his entire years production, plus has a
contract for the next 12.5 metric tons of product. As a marketing
firm we routinely perform services for companies overseas looking
for marketing help in the U.S. One of our first large jobs was to
package and market a software product from France to the U.S.
banking industry. One of our larges clients now, a huge U.S.
telecom company, has done over $300,000 of fee business with us and
the client found us, has done business with us and continues to do
business with us through the net.
Our focus is international business, small or large. When we
develop web sites for companies our strategy is different if those
companies want to develop business internationally, or even find
distributors for products in other countries. The web site strategy
is different and the marketing online is different. But I can
assure you, it works for very large corporations and for small
business or entrepeneurs.

By the way, the attorney is a two man shop with a secretary. :)
Don't you love it when the small companies succeed also!
