I agree with your analogy to a certain extent. However, it will still take
some time for enough "turf" to be guarded by those fence posts. The "real
estate" that they surround today is still but an acre in the vast worldly
landscape. Expanding upon the analogy, as the Internet-based acreage grows,
it's still got to be located in a desireable area to the extent that they
represent access to a sufficient market. Additionally, the Internet will
not be replacing many of the conventional advertising mediums. They will be
in addition to it, as well as replace a portion of conventional as well as
other less efficient means of promotion (coupons for one).
