I am considering putting up a site that would sell a product priced
extremely cheaply - possibly as low as $4.95. The only way to
purchase it would be via the Web.

I am exploring the possibility of offering to pay sites that advertise
my site/product on a conversion basis - that is, if a surfer makes it
to my site from your site, and then pays, I would pay you.

I am considering paying as much as $1.50 per conversion.

Obviously, this won't work if conversion rates are too low -- so the
ad and the site must be attractive, persuasive, and allow for source
tracking. And, the product will be legitimate and appeal to a broad
range of consumers.

If this works, successful sites would make more money than they would
on a per impression, or per clickthrough basis, but, there would be no
guarantees. It would allow me to accelerate the launch of this
product much more quickly than any other method available to me.

Having said that, I am looking for feedback, positive, negative, but
constructive.
