With this kind of sponsorship long term deals are best. An advertiser
wants to link his company or brand with your product. Try to sell 6
months or longer. A text (like this newsletter) at the top of your
newsletter is the most appropriate manner to sell 'advertsing-space'
in newsletters at the time. There are some possibilities to enclose
multi-media, but not many computers and e-mail software is ready for
fancy stuff.
Try to get more details from your subscribers (on-line
questionnaire? Hotwired is starting with interesting ways of on-line
research... inclusing ad-recall) Because you are aiming at a niche
your subscribers are very interesting for some advertisers. Because
of this your rate can be substantial higher compared to 'flat'
banners etc.
