I've been able to find some "advertising networks" and some brokers here and
there, but I'm wondering if there's a good directory or listing somewhere.

I'm writing about placing Web advertising, and I'd like to have some good
resources to point my readers to.

I don't know of any resources that list Web brokers, but you may want to
check out Webtrack's Ad Space Locator, which lists a large number of sites
that accept ads, along with descriptions of each site and a rough breakdown
of their rates. It is not an exhaustive list, but it may help you get
started.
