SPAMAD is a new list established by Rob Raisch at The Internet Company
and InfoWorld.

This list acts as a forum for discussing the problem of unsolicited
advertising (SPAM) via electronic mail and on Usenet. It is
UNMODERATED, but is managed to maintain the quality of the
discussion.

This is the place to discuss all issues surrounding advertising
online that ignores the customer's interests, specifically the use
of electronic mail or Usenet news as a marketing vehicle where the
customer has no choice but to download, view and discard
advertisments.

It is also a very appropriate place to discuss the merits of
possible solutions to the problem. (One such proposal can be found
in Part II of 'Postage Due Marketing Revisited' referenced at the
end of this message.)
