I assume "bridge page" refers to "metascreens" or "ad blips", described
in Vol.2, No. 12 of WEBWEEK. A full screen "You are now entering ...
sponsored by..." kind of page appears for 5 to 10 seconds between a site's
home page and a deeper page. Emulating the television model, the ads (to
me at least) aren't annoying if they don't take long to load. Examples
can be found "behind" http://www.word.com, which also uses a regular banner
ad on the home page, and http://www.charged.com.
