There are a number of technical solutions. The simplest is to create a
bridge page for each referring URL and then to have a counter on each or
otherwise track it through your logs. If you need to track progress through
your pages and then right through to an order form (so that you know the
referrer that has resulted in a sale as opposed to traffic) you can use
cookies. If you have a problem with cookies because some browsers do not
support them and many users object to them then you need a clever CGI. It
