Thinking about accepting ads means thinking about client requirements.
Currently your site is designed for your own needs and, elegant as it
may be, there is no way you could get anything other than gold or blue
text on your site (http://www.windweaver.com) without it clashing with
the background image.

You are therefore left with a choice: stick to the design you like and
forget the ads, or change the design to something that ads will be
compatible with.

A third, and rather difficult, option might be to offer text-only
hotlinks, but you will find it difficult selling ads that exclude
graphics.

You can set whatever standards you like, but in doing so you will
exclude ad opportunities.
