Absolutely.

My guess is that the most used will be indexes and meta-indexes covering
areas of interest. They in turn will continue to use search engines to
develop the database that is then indexed by humans.

Far more than we do now, I'm sure. But just as we still go window-shopping,
so we'll continue to do some browsing/surfing.
I think this will lead to a large number of regional and topical indexes that
will be able to command premiums for ad space on them. That is part of the
reason I'm developing a Central Iowa Index [www.commonlink.com/~drc]
