This is a pre-release of a press release. The site is not open to the
public yet. It seems Parade and USA WEEKEND have found a way to make $ on
the net. Selling ads to web sites in its magazines. The mag has a 85 mil
circ and they say that ads are 5cents CPM, so that comes to about $4000 each
listing.

A new corporation responding to the clutter and confusion of
the over-efficient Internet search engines finds its niche.
WebLink Express Corporation, founded in Eugene, Oregon
combines a category specific printed directory in PARADE
and USA WEEKEND with the Internet. This printed directory
alone reaches the equivalent of more than 84.9 million
households and in conjunction supports an online Web site.
This multi-media approach offered by WebLink Express
eliminates the shortcomings of the search engines which
lists sites with similar key words. In the search engine
process companies often get buried in these long lists. The
category specific approach reinforces corporate identity and
increases online exposure to consumers.
The printed directory, Seekers WebLink Express (TM), is
scheduled to be published in late Spring. When the
directory is published the 13 week regional rotation
distribution covering all 50 states will begin.
CommerceNet/Nielson Media Research reports 23 percent of
people over the age of 16 in the United States and Canada
now use the Internet: double the figure of the original
survey in 1995. Valerie Stilwell, Director of Operations
for WebLink Express believes the advent of WebTV and other
computer appliances will drastically increase this figure
and draw millions more to the Internet. "We are ready. We
identified a widespread problem and have created a working
solution. We combine the power and reach of print media with
the interactive component of the Internet," Stilwell said.
