I used Yahoo! for the launch of my web site the Auction Depot. My experience
was that it generated enough action in the first week that we sold a
substantial amount of inventory. That one week cost $1000us which was an
enormous cost given that we had no user base to start with. I would recommend
this as a vehicle for launching the site, but it is not very cost effective
given the alternatives. The advantage that Yahoo has is that the throughput
is large in a short time frame.
